In the 19th century, trousers went from the simple leg coverings of farmers to the proper evening wear of the aristocracy.  This is our full-size paper pattern with complete instructions and historical notes for men's trousers circa 1830-1900 based on extant examples and period talior's manuals.  Pattern includes the early version's instep strap and the later shaped bottoms.
