Make yourself a Proper Topper with our Ulster pattern.
You need our pattern for this beautiful Ulster Top Coat based on an original pattern from the 19th century. Fits chests 34" through 54" with instructions for larger sizes.
The Ulster is distinguished from other top coat styles by its detachable shoulder cape. The Ulster is not shaped by seams but rather by a cloth half-belt that gathers the fullness at the back waist. It is always double-breasted. The Ulster gives the impression of rugged warmth against the winter cold.
All sizes are included in one pattern. Detailed instructions, period tailoring directions, embellishment suggestions, and historical notes are also included. Plus you can call our toll-free number with any questions.
Suggested Fabrics: coat weight wool
Notions: thread, buttons for front closure
Yardage Requirements: 5¼ yards at least 60 wide
